I just heard this Liszt work for the first time. Friedemann is a guitar player and his work is a mix of jazz, new age, world music. It is very interesting, and very nice to listen to. Being the only affordable hi rez performance by the MJQ, it is a nice addition for any MJQ lover like me. The playing is really nice, and the fact hat it is a live recording adds to the overall excitement. The sound quality is good despite being a late 50s recording. Nice performance by stan getz, lots of fast tunes with the always smooth tenor sax sound typical of getz. The sound is not bad but not marvelous either. The original master is at fault probably.
