No question: The retailer is wholly and singly responsible for the warranty. No wriggle room. If the thing is a paperweight and cannot be repaired, they need to replace with an equivalent. I have no axe to grind, personally. My experiences with Pioneer have always been good over the years (DVD players "back in the day") - the way I see it I have a warranty that is the responsibility of the retailer not Pioneer. I didn't really concern myself too much with that - the alternative for me was to buy Cambridge or Oppo (and I didn't want to spend the extra) or go Sony and lose the DVD-A support. You pays your money.... ... more |
